Please spend a day with Catalina Scuba! You won't be disappointed! Nikkie and Chris are a husband/wife ownership team who are with you every step of the way to assure your experience in the Avalon Marine Park and the kaleidoscopic kelp forest will be memorable. Even better - extraordinary! I spent two days with them and completed a 'two-tank' session on both days. I was made to feel very relaxed. Chris is direct, polite, fun, humorous and extremely knowledgeable not only of the marine universe in the waters around Catalina, but as a native to the island, he shares very personal and interesting stories about the island itself. The equipment is all first-class, top-of-the-line, and in excellent condition. I have nothing but glowing reviews for my experience with Catalina Scuba. I will definitely come back and recommend the experience to anyone who enjoys the magic of underwater weightlessness. The Garibaldi and Calico sea creatures were equally hospitable! My wife and I recently dove with Chris and there wasn't a single thing I could complain about. Chris was already on site when we arrived, very friendly and professional. He is clearly very competent. He set up all our equipment for us, which for us is fantastic as we normally dive on our own back home with our own gear and not having to set up and everything was great. He briefed us on how to use the equipment and then went over the dive plan in enough detail to make us feel comfortable but not so much as to bore you to death. I can't remember the last time I saw my wife this comfortable during a dive. Neither my wife or I had ever dove with a back plate and I'm almost annoyed because it was pretty awesome and now I want to get rid of my vest and go spend a bunch of money on a back plate set up. My synopsis: great dive site, great gear, great instructor. I highly recommend!

Can't ask for a better business to dive with. Fantastic gear included with the price of your guided dive. Chris the guide/dive master/instructor is super awesome. He's super knowledgeable about the marine life in the Catalina Kelp forest and very safety conscious with his divers. Nikki provided great customer service and answers any questions you may have. I completed 2 dives last week with Catalina Scuba. I dove with them last year and returned this year for 2 more dives. Owners and dive masters, Chris and Nikki, did an outstanding job of preparing the dive group about what to expect, etc. Their equipment is excellent and they are thoroughly professional operators. They were patient, informed, safety focused and excellent guides. I saw multiple giant black sea bass that were as large as I was. The kelp forests are amazing and breathtaking to swim through. This was another outstanding experience and I will come back to them again in the future. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I did two dives this past Saturday with Catalina Scuba and we had a GREAT experience. Chris, our dive master, was very competent and took us to some very stunning spots under the water. The gear all worked perfectly and we got two full dives. The whole experience, start to finish, was very easy and I felt was priced very reasonably. The diving off Catalina was great. It was my first time and we had excellent clarity. Would recommend!
