Completely overpriced for experience. The reserve is very much a controlled environment with limited animals and 3 lions kept in their own reserve. The animals were more like pets than in wild. Accommodation was very basic for price paid - shower was like showering in the sea with the amount of salt and it was very obvious bed linen was washed in same water with the strong feeling of salt and stickiness from them. On second night fire alarm went off in room beside us. It took another neighboring room to alert reception / security to the alarm. However the food was by far the worst experience - the same menu for lunch and dinner over the 2 night stay with no shop or cafe for in between meals. Starters on the first night were cold and the main course inedible. Soup the second night was burnt and again mains inedible. Breakfast was the best but also very basic (and I arrived early one morning to see the birds eating away at the granola and bread before guests arrived). While convenient from Cape Town I would not return or recommend and instead take the flight further north to experience a true safari

Had an absolutely wonderful time at the Inverdoorn! So many names to mention, but I have to say the guide we had, Kevin, was amazing! So knowledgeable about the animals and pretty funny too! The accommodations where excellent! The stars from there was like none I’ve ever seen! And the food, so excellent! I would recommend multiple days as some of the animals hide pretty well. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I visited Inverdoorn for one night last week and am rating it 2/5 for the following reasons: Check-in information was incomplete: Key details about booking optional activities were not shared. When we inquired about massages later in the day, we were told we should have requested these at check-in. This was never communicated to us. We also missed the Cheetah expedition on the second morning because we were unaware that there was only one departure at 10:00 a.m., and the jeeps had already left by the time we asked. Star-gazing was poorly coordinated: Our package included star-gazing as a key attraction. After the evening safari, our guide mentioned the sky might be cloudy and star-gazing may not take place. However, during dinner, a guide came in and quietly informed only certain guests that a star-gazing jeep would depart at 9:00 p.m. Because the dinner service was very slow, some guests left their meal to join. We were not informed and therefore never had the option to participate. Dinner service was disorganized: It took our table over an hour just to receive bread, and service overall felt chaotic. We did not finish dinner until 10:30 p.m., at which point we learned that some guests had already gone star-gazing despite earlier indications it might be cancelled. No corrective customer service: When we asked at reception if we could join a later star-gazing outing, we were told it was “too late,” and that no rangers were available. Although we explained that we were only staying one night, no alternatives or accommodations were offered. Given the price point and the emphasis on these activities as part of the experience, the lack of communication and coordination was disappointing.

We recently celebrated our anniversary staying in the Ambassador chalet, and it was absolutely incredible! The service was exceptional – every team member we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The room was luxurious l, with all the amenities you'd expect from a 5-star property. We felt pampered and relaxed in our beautifully appointed room. The game drives were top-notch, and the quad game drives were an exhilarating experience. The team's dedication to delivering an unforgettable experience was evident in every detail. We can't wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and adventurous getaway. Thanks to the entire team for making our anniversary celebration so memorable!

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The safari was exciting and well-organized, and we got to see so many beautiful animals up close. The scenery was stunning, and the atmosphere was peaceful and authentic. A special thanks to Chef Russell — the food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every meal felt like a treat! Also, a big thank you to our driver Micky, who was so friendly, professional, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip. The overall vibe was so cozy, especially in the evenings with the beautiful fire pit setting — it felt warm and inviting. One of the most unforgettable moments was the nighttime stargazing experience. It was magical to see the stars so clearly in the quiet, open sky. We also tried the electric bikes for the first time — it was such a fun and unique experience! And we truly appreciated the warm and welcoming hospitality from the moment we arrived. Truly a trip to remember. Highly recommended!
