Wonderful learning opportunity for young and old alike followed by many many trails in and around the area where the area has a mystical feel about rain or shine. You can make the hikes as short or long as you like.

Great experience for the family and kid friendly. You get to see the salmon swim through a man made upstream that you can see through a glass. Accessible free parking and also closeby to a picnic spot that has many picnic tables and walking distance to the Cleveland Dam through a small trail with stairs.

Awesome place to watch Coho and Chinook power up the fish ladder and get a fun, easy intro to how the hatchery works—those exhibits and viewing windows are super engaging for all ages. The model displays are great, but the explanations weren’t very clear or seemed to miss details, and a clearer demo on how to tell the salmon species apart would really help. More straightforward signs at each viewing window would make the experience even better. It does get pretty packed during peak runs and on weekends, though. There’s also a beautiful trail right next door for a peaceful walk after watching the salmon. Bottom line: it’s a fantastic spot to see salmon powering up and leaping the ladder.

Leonardo was fantastic from start to finish! He couldn’t do enough and he is such a lovely guy with massive knowledge all round. This is the first time we have ever had a Guide and I would 200% recommend this lovely guy and it’s just a pity we’re not here for longer as we would’ve used him for other trips
Alessandro

This place is magical. Lots of trails and absolute breathtaking nature beauty everywhere you look. Plus, a fantastic and well organized salvage dam facility and fish way to preserve the salmon migration and health of the species all year round. You can also look at the salmons jumping off the water going upstream against the strong water flow. They're always visible through the glasses downstairs in the dedicated area for salmon observation room. Can't help to take non-stop pictures and videos to capture all the beauty and intersting things this place has to offer. If you want to learn more about salmons and how they're preserved and protected, this is the place to go. Plus, it's completely free! A must-see place for a nice summer afternoon in the area.

Leonardo was a fabulous host. Would highly recommend his tour. Very personable, knowledgable and a true ambassador for Vancouver. Despite the pouring rain for our excursion, he understood our interests and made the most of all opportunities in the nearby vicinity. Capilano was a highlight for us all (including the fish hatchery and dam as a short diversion) as was spotting a woodpecker in Stanley Park.

Fantastic day on this tour. Started at 7.30am. Glad we went early as missing most of the busy crowds. There were 5 of us in the group and the tour guide was excellent and very accommodating. He was friendly and knowledgeable about all the events we visited. We offered cold bottles of water numerous times. I’d definitely book this company again if going away again. The events we visited were excellent and well worth going to.
