This was so not worth it. We paid 40€ pp for a train that started a bit late. Took a major stop at a point to sell us some photos that they clicked of us with some actors dressed as prisoners. Cringe! And to top that, their audio system sucks. They keep playing some announcement while your headphones are telling you some history. The headphones are also falling apart. If you can avoid it, avoid paying money for this. It’s really not worth it.
Loved it! Great experience. The staff were very, very friendly. The wild horses are so cool!
The history behind it is really interesting. The said all the cut trees were cut by the prisoners back then. They give you an earphone to hear the story inside the train, it has portuguese, english, spanish, italian, german… Loved it!! You make a quick stop in another station where you can take pics with friendly and funny “prisoners”, so fun. You can go up and see a small waterfall too, only some stairs up. On the way there we saw three horses!! So nice.
