A monumental symbol of ancient Rome and one of the greatest architectural achievements in history. Built nearly 2,000 years ago, the Colosseum once hosted gladiator battles and grand public spectacles for over 50,000 spectators. Standing here, you can truly feel the power, scale, and legacy of the Roman Empire. An unforgettable experience and an absolute must-visit in Rome. Local Guide tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy better views for photos.

Visiting the Colosseum is truly an unforgettable experience and an absolute must when in Rome. The history, scale, and preservation of the structure are incredible—you can genuinely feel the weight of ancient Roman history the moment you step inside. Walking through the arena and upper levels gives you a deep appreciation for the engineering, architecture, and significance of one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. The views are stunning, the exhibits are informative, and the overall atmosphere is awe-inspiring. That said, the only downside was the level of security. While I understand the importance of safety, it felt excessive at times. There were multiple checkpoints, long lines, and surprisingly, they even required a physical ID to enter, which didn’t really make sense for a historical monument and slowed the process down significantly. It took away a bit from the excitement and flow of the visit. Overall, despite the over-the-top security measures, the Colosseum itself is absolutely worth seeing and lives up to its reputation. A remarkable experience that I’d still highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome.

Incredible sight! Learned about the Colosseum in school while studying Latin so it was an incredible feeling to see it in person. It’s absolutely massive and impressive. Most of the structure is original and well preserved. You can purchase a tickets at the official booth for 18€ (at least one person in the group must present a passport, the rest also an official ID as your names will be printed onto the ticket) opposite the colosseum which provides entry to the Colosseum and Forum Romanum. Tickets can also be purchased on the official website for the same price; however on the day of our visit the website said there was no tickets left but then we purchased some at the booth. We visited on the 21/12 being a Sunday and Winter holidays so the whole of Rome was packed. Highly recommend visiting ☺️

This place deserves every penny I paid for it. The building is fascinating, and the surrounding environment is breathtaking. Everyone is enjoying their time here. I highly recommend visiting this place to watch the sunset and wait for the Colosseum to turn orange. I would definitely recommend it after visiting the Colosseum. I’m currently walking around towards the city center.

I recommend reserving tickets in advance because if you get the tickets there you’ll have to wait in line and the tickets sell out really fast online too so be sure to grab your ticket for underground ground. It’s really large and you can take a bunch of photos there’s tons of spots to take pictures. There’s also a museum part with a lot assorted artifacts highly recommend so go check it out when you’re in Rome.
