The Borghese Gallery in Rome offers an exceptional opportunity to explore the rich history and artistic legacy of the Borghese family, one of the most influential families in Italian history. Known for their passion for art and culture, the Borghese family collected masterpieces that continue to captivate visitors today. Their collection includes works by world-renowned artists such as Caravaggio, Bernini, Raphael, and Titian, reflecting both the artistic trends of their time and the family’s refined taste. The gallery is housed in a beautifully preserved villa surrounded by elegant gardens, creating a serene and inspiring setting for art appreciation. Each room within the villa is carefully curated, showcasing a harmonious blend of sculpture, painting, and decorative art that tells the story of the Borghese family’s wealth, influence, and commitment to cultural patronage. Visitors gain insight not only into the masterpieces themselves but also into the historical and social context in which these works were commissioned and displayed.

A small-group guided tour enhances the experience, providing a more intimate and personalized approach to exploring the gallery. With fewer participants, guests receive detailed attention from knowledgeable guides who share stories, historical background, and artistic insights that bring the collection to life. The guided format allows for questions and discussions, deepening understanding of each piece and its significance. Moving at a comfortable pace, participants can fully appreciate the villa’s architecture, the exquisite artworks, and the surrounding gardens. This type of tour is ideal for art lovers seeking a thoughtful and immersive experience that goes beyond a standard visit. By combining expert guidance, historical context, and personal attention, the small-group tour ensures that every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation of the Borghese family’s legacy and the enduring beauty of their extraordinary art collection in the heart of Rome.

Amazing museum! We have a dual membership card which is great as we just show our cards and have one entry per day (I believe) at the museum. The artwork and sculptures truly are extra-ordinary from Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, to Caravaggio and Bernini. Every time we visit we are left in awe. In addition the surrounding park is beautiful. One of our favorite museums in the world!

Definitely one of the highlights in Rome. The gallery features sculptures by Bernini (Rape of Proserpina, Apollo and Daphne, Davi, Truth Unveiled by Time), Antonio Canova and Caravaggio paintings (including the famous David and Goliath painting) and beautiful ceiling artworks. If you book a ticket through GetYourGuide - there's many options where you can download an audio guide (available in multiple languages) onto your phone to walk through the gallery while learning about this place and its works of art. Expect a an around 2h time to see everything properly while contemplating.

Stunning museum. A lot of amazing art pieces and the rooms where each art is located is are stunning in itself. One should really buy tickets in advance and if you have any passing interest in art, I recommend not buying the Intero speciale ticket (12 euros) because 17:45 to 19:00 is really too short if you also buy the audio guide and use that to go through your way in the museums (5 euros). This is not a criticism but rather just a remark for "early-bird" visitors - unlike museums such as the Capitoline Museums, they are strict with entry times. If the entry indicated in the ticket is 17:45, the earliest they will let people in is at 17:40. Minus one star because for me, I found the rooms indicated in the card hanging with the audio guide confusing. Visit the souvenir shop because they have amazing items. One can even buy big pictures of the Bernini sculptures featured in this museum in black backdrop - iconic and really classy to hang in rooms. Overall, truly a treat for the eyes.

Well worth the visit if you love art! 1h15min is perfect for a relaxed visit, unless you are a connoisseur who likes to take his time. Gorgeous statues, beautiful paintings, and magnificent ceilings. The cellar entry is very nice, too. And free storage of your coats and/or backpack. The park is quite nice, too. Ideally you visit by day so you can stroll the park in the sun, but tickets sell quickly. Pro tip: even if there's a sign saying tickets for the day are gone, they may still let you buy one. It wont work for big groups, but 1 or 2 people can be lucky.

Visiting the Borghese Gallery was an unforgettable experience, wonderful and truly extravagant. The collection features masterpieces by Bernini and Canova, along with an impressive range of paintings. What strikes you most is the overwhelming sense of opulence and richness, showcasing art at its very highest level—not only in Italy but anywhere in the world. We were simply in awe of the magnificence. One important tip: make sure to book your tickets at least a month in advance. Otherwise, you’ll miss the chance to visit this extraordinary gallery, and that would be such a shame.
