Shuttled Mountain Bike Ride: Salt Lick Trails

Salt Lick Trail at Red Mountain Open Space is an excellent choice for novice to intermediate mountain bikers looking for fun flowy riding with incredible scenery. Located just minutes from Silverthorne, this trail system offers easy access and varied terrain through lodgepole pine and aspen forests, with sweeping views of Lake Dillon, the Continental Divide, and surrounding peaks. The trails are designed to be approachable while still exciting, making them ideal for riders building confidence and skills.

One of the highlights of this experience is the shuttle assisted riding. After loading bikes into the van, riders are dropped near the top of Salt Lick for multiple hot laps on rolling terrain. While not entirely downhill, the shuttle provides a strong start, allowing more time to enjoy descents and flow. The day wraps up near a local brewery, offering the perfect relaxed ending to an active day on the trails.
