Experience local culture and community engagement
Volunteer teaching in Kenyan schools and orphanages provides a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while experiencing local culture. Volunteers assist with or lead lessons in subjects such as English, mathematics, science, geography, social sciences, history, physical education, art, and music. Depending on the school’s needs, volunteers may teach independently or support existing teachers. This program allows participants to connect with students, contribute to their education, and learn about Kenya’s educational system. It is important to note that Kenyan school holidays fall in April, August, November, and December, and no teaching activities will take place during those periods.
The program includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, airport pickup and drop-off, and a day trip to the Giraffe Center and Elephant Orphanage. Soft and alcoholic drinks are not included. The program is stroller accessible but not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pets. Infant seats are unavailable, and infants must sit on laps. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for daily activities. Pickup is available from Airbnbs and private apartments. Volunteers should bring appropriate teaching materials, personal items, sun protection, and a camera. This experience combines meaningful volunteering, cultural immersion, and wildlife exploration, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to communities while exploring Kenya.
