Their website is very unclear about what this is and even the signs posted at their stops advertising the trip. This is a 90 minute bus tour. In this winter months this is NOT a typical hop on hop off bus tour where you can get out, walk around for a while and catch the next bus. They don't even let you out at every stop to take pictures or see anything. There are two stops where you can get off the bus for 5-10 min each: the sauna and the Sibelius monument. The signs at the stops advertise the tour for the winter season as stopping to allow for pictures. I thought this meant getting out because often from the bus you can't see much, there's a glare from the window and in our case rain drops covering the window. Anyways, Helsinki is very walkable and has a ton of great public transport. If you're visiting in the winter season I'd recommend figuring out the tram and you can see everything at our own pace and get off to walk around for a lot cheaper. The bus itself was comfortable (different from the red bus pictured on the site) and the bus driver was very friendly.
I accidently got a fly about Helsinki City Pass (application) at this address and bought a pass for 48h with only 55euro. Many free activities or discounts, inclucding this tour by bus. Recommended to go on weekdays instead of weekends for less delay with traffic or events. Earphone is given when u get on the bus. Find a seat and plug the earphone to the device above. There are buttons for chanels (different languages) and volumn. The audio is good, but I ended up having 2 tours on 2 different days, one is without the audio to just enjoy the view.
Really needs a work over on their Web page & ease of finding clear information. Maybe in the translation to English but I don't think so. There last weekend & Hop On Hop Off not working just a single sight seeing bus doing a 90min loop. Think might start in April. Also the associated boat trip is also not running in March. Tickets can be bought on line or from bus driver (our driver was great) or is covered in Helsiki Tourist pass. The trip around was good providing good coverage of the city for the harbour, the beach, rock church, famous architecture, The Olympic precinct & historic centre. Some confusion on pre-recorded commentary as didn't start until after bus was underwater, then was on different channels to that indicated on the bus. Otherwise tour was good. Free wifi on bus & it is OK but not great.
