Discover an unforgettable flying safari adventure from Zanzibar to the vast wilderness of Selous Game Reserve also known as Nyerere National Park. Begin your journey early in the morning with a transfer from your hotel to the airport followed by a scenic flight over Tanzania. Upon arrival your shared safari game drive begins immediately in one of the largest protected wildlife areas in Africa. Explore diverse landscapes while your experienced driver guide shares knowledge about the animals and environment. Pause during the day to enjoy a relaxing bush lunch surrounded by nature before continuing the game drive. As the sun sets return to your safari accommodation to unwind enjoy dinner and experience a peaceful night in the heart of the Tanzanian bush.
The next day starts with breakfast followed by a guided walking safari offering a closer connection to nature and wildlife tracks. After returning for lunch continue the adventure with a boat safari along the Rufiji River where you can spot hippos crocodiles and many bird species from the water. In the evening return to the lodge for rest and relaxation. On the final morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar where a driver will meet you and bring you back to your hotel ending a truly immersive safari experience filled with remarkable memories.

I have dreamed of going on a safari since I was a little girl. I was always in love with the animals and the landscape. I was nervous to finally go - would it live up to thirty years of dreaming!? It did, and beyond! Selous Safari Company gave me an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. They organize everything from the moment you land - a driver to take you through Dar es Saleem, smaller plane rides out to the bush, and your activities. The game rides are amazing, the guides knowledgeable and inspiring. The camp is the perfect combination of luxury and authenticity, and the food is the best I have ever eaten in my life. There are so many animals to see - it's a constant and the guides even know exactly how and where to find the rarer animals. Every little detail is thought of and the staff are so wonderful. If you want to go on safari, pick Tanzania. It's not touristy, but still authentic and concerned with conservation and giving the animals a natural habitat. Selous Safari Company honours all that and makes the experience an unforgettable, perfect memory. A thousand stars. I hope to go again someday.
