We spent a lovely day at various locations leading to San Sebastian del Oeste. Sofia, our guide, and Omar were excellent and knowledgeable. We learnt a lot about Mexican history and culture, and had the opportunity to enjoy Mexican coffee from the mountains, a delicious meal in San Sebastian and tequila tasting. I would definitely recommend!
First of all, this excursion FAR exceeded our expectations in every way! The boat was small but comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. The guide (Pablo) and captain (Ramon) were excellent. Pablo shared his 15 years of knowledge and passion for the whales. We learned so much. We saw in excess of 20 humpback whales (that’s when we lost count). It is mating season so we witnessed many males following and fighting over one female. It was exciting and breathtaking! We were so close to the whales we could almost touch them. This was a once in a lifetime experience. If it could happen twice in a lifetime, better yet! Book this excursion!!!
From a certified interpretive guide: This was genuinely the best tour I've been on. As a tour guide myself I study tour guides, their itineraries, crew interactions, their food and beverage service, their gear, etc, much more closely than others. I was blown away by these guys. From the second they met us at the cruise pier they started making a good impression. They were professional, friendly, and clear in their instructions about how to get to our destination. We boarded and staff members were there to offer a hand onto the boat and pass out life jackets. Danny, our guide, gave a warm welcome in both perfect English and Spanish. Then the service started - staff came around with (very good) juice and fruit in case anyone skipped breakfast. Then there was a sweet bread. Then the drinks started flowing. Then Danny had more to share. It was one thing after another, all above and beyond what I was expecting. We were all treated extremely well. The staff were so friendly it felt like we were pals immediately. When I got debilitatingly seasick they all took great care of me, much to my chagrin. They even swam with us when we snorkeled! The beach they took us to after snorkeling was probably the most beautiful place I've ever been, and the lunch was fantastic and included in our ticket price. The luxury loungers, kayaks, and paddleboards were also free. I could not believe it! Drinks kept flowing the whole ride back (including non-alcoholic ones). We saw dolphins, whales, turtles, flying fish, and many bird species. Lastly the crew put on a choreographed performance for us, complete with several costume changes. The best part about it was that it was clear they were all truly having fun and no one was being forced to dance or be silly for tips. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you Danny and crew for the great time! Sorry for the puke!
