Booked this tour for my sister’s birthday during our week in Cozumel. We were the only people on the tour with our guide Rolo. He was a wealth of information on the history, culture and food of Cozumel. We learned so much and appreciated the time he spent with us. As for the food, you can have as much or as little as you like. Our first stop we didn’t even realize was a restaurant, it was kind of tucked away. We were offered shrimp, fish or octopus tacos. We tried the shrimp and they were tasty. Next was a stop for empanadas. Then to a restaurant to try different kinds of tacos. They had several options available, all stewed varieties (mole, tinga…). Next was a stop to the local market, which was very interesting. Last was a stop to get some frozen fruit bars. We tried the mango and the coconut. All of the locations are not tourist traps (Senor Frogs type places) and are away from the main tourist/cruise ship hub. These locations are where the locals eat. If you really want to learn about and experience Cozumel, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Rolo!
Great tour with great people. Julio, Rollo and Ariel were great and provided a wealth of information about the islands history and local places to eat. You can tell they love what they do and everything they do and say comes from the heart. Highly recommend this tour for newbies and long time residents. Fun and very enjoyable evening.
