Had a wonderful time with Robert doing the 2 day turning course for beginners, To start he has a superb set up in a bright, warm and inviting work shop that really promotes learning, Robert and Mary are lovely people and creat such a welcoming atmosphere, we worked on different teckneics, learned all the core skills to turn wood safely and effectively, I'd recommend this course to anyone that wants to give wood turning a try, Roberts demos are very straightforward and easy to follow, he actively engages with all of the students though out the day and you never feel like your not being guided, theres plenty of support there for the student, Robert is a very nice man aswell, very genuine and down to earth, you couldn't find a better teach if you tryed. The skill and knowledge he has is second to none, really had a great time on the course, at the end you have some lovely pices to bring home to show off! Thank you Robert and mary!

Robert is a great teacher; patient, funny and informative. Regardless of your skill level coming in (mine was zero!) he will show you the ropes in a lovely relaxing environment. His courses are a great way to spend a day or weekend and would make an excellent gift as well. Everything is so online these days it was so satisfying to do something manual all day and have some lovely pieces at the end of it to take home!

Had a brilliant day here with with my wife on the couple's course. We got a great walk through how to use the tools and some of the techniques used for wood-turning. We were both complete novices but within half an hour we had managed to get a few shapes on a piece of wood. My wife was able to turn her practice piece into a candlestick holder! We then got to do a project working together with two pieces before finishing up making our own pair of bowls! Robert was a fantastic tutor and explains the techniques really well and is very encouraging. He was very good at spotting when a little bit of guidance or direction was needed and thanks to him, we completed a number of projects and had a brilliant day out. Would definitely recommend this to anyone with an interest in woodturning or simply in trying something new. My wife and I did it to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the little touches provided made a huge difference and my wife is still raving about it. If you're on the fence, take it from me, it's worth it! Thanks Mary & Robert!
