Boat Mangrove

The tour lasts about three hours and is scheduled according to the tide beginning one and a half hours before its peak. The journey starts at our office and continues to Boca Coronado where guests board a boat to explore the Terraba mangroves. Along the way visitors discover a rich ecosystem with red black and white mangroves as well as Mangrove Pinuela. More than five mangrove species can be seen each displaying distinct flowers and fruits that highlight the diversity of this unique environment.

As the boat moves through the mangroves guests may spot wildlife such as gray and blue herons tiger herons white ibises and the rare mangrove hummingbird. Mammals like capuchin monkeys marmosets raccoons and occasionally crocodiles may also appear making every tour different. Midway through the trip there is a peaceful stop within the mangroves where guests enjoy light refreshments including pastries fresh fruit and water before continuing the adventure.
