Long Beach R44 Demo Flight Blends Simulator Training with Hands-On Helicopter Experience

A dynamic introduction to aviation is offered through the R44 Demo Flight adventure over Long Beach, combining advanced simulator training with a real in-flight lesson in a Robinson R44 helicopter. The experience begins in a state-of-the-art flight simulator, where participants are introduced to the fundamentals of helicopter control before taking to the skies.

The flight lesson accommodates up to three passengers, with two seated in the rear while the main participant takes the controls under the direct supervision of a certified flight instructor. During the scenic flight over Long Beach, participants gain hands-on experience piloting the helicopter while enjoying panoramic coastal and city views.

After landing, participants receive a signed certificate along with an SFAR 73 Awareness Training Endorsement, marking their participation in the training experience. Flight time earned during the session may also be credited toward future pilot certification for those pursuing aviation training.

For safety and compliance, guests must arrive at least 15 minutes before departure with a valid government-issued ID matching the reservation. FAA regulations apply, including strict weight limits—individuals over 300 lbs or groups exceeding 580 lbs cannot be accommodated. The experience is conducted under a drug- and alcohol-free policy, with rescheduling available at no extra cost in cases of weather, temporary flight restrictions, or maintenance. Closed-toe footwear and sun protection are recommended for a safe and comfortable flight experience.
