A three day epic tour exploring the Central Otago Gold area begins with a scenic drive down to the Lindis Pass, where the dramatic landscapes of the South Island unfold before you. From there, we head into Lake Wanaka for some time to explore the lakeside town and take in the surrounding alpine scenery. Continuing on, the journey takes us to Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand, before venturing further into Alexandra and the heart of Central Otago, where the historic goldfields and charming landscapes tell stories of the past. Along the way, we make plenty of stops to capture the stunning scenery and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this remarkable region.
The tour also visits some of the smaller settlements that add so much character to the region, including St Bathans with its heritage architecture and Naseby, a charming town steeped in gold rush history. Each stop allows time to explore, photograph, and immerse yourself in the Central Otago Gold Country experience. Whether it’s wandering through historic streets, enjoying the local scenery, or simply soaking in the vast open landscapes, this tour provides a comprehensive and memorable exploration of one of New Zealand’s most scenic and historically rich areas.
