Kaikoura

Departing Christchurch early in the morning, we travel north through the rolling landscapes of the Waipara Valley wine-growing region and the rural township of Cheviot before continuing on toward the coast at Oaro. Along the way, the scenery gradually shifts from farmland to rugged coastline, offering wide ocean views and a sense of anticipation as we approach the Kaikoura region.

On arrival in Kaikoura, we take time to explore this unique coastal town set between the mountains and the sea.
