Beautiful place lots of wildlife and flowers, a grand boat trip a lovely day out with lots of things to hire on the river
A pleasant 1.5-hour trip from Rivalta sul Mincio (MN) to almost the outskirts of Mantua and back, accompanied by Mr. Lorenzo, a friendly and courteous guide who explains the route's features, the flora and fauna, and some of the area's historical, food, and wine curiosities. During the summer months, the enchanting lotus flowers bloom again. After admiring the skyline of Mantua, the return journey continues, passing the village of Grazie, famous for its sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna. During the three days of August, the Madonnari (painters) present their beautiful paintings. The boat holds about twenty passengers and offers excellent views. The excursion is reasonably priced.
