Experience the ultimate summer adventure with a tubing trip down the scenic Hocking River, offered by Hocking Hills Adventures. This 3-5 hour excursion allows you to relax and float downstream at a leisurely pace, taking in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes while enjoying the refreshing river waters. Tubing is a perfect way to unwind and enjoy a fun outdoor activity, whether you’re seeking a calm day on the water or an adventurous way to spend time with friends and family. Depending on the water conditions, your journey will either start at Crockets Run and end at the Canoe Livery, typically in spring and early summer, or begin at Natural Rockbridge and conclude at Crockets Run, usually in late summer. The trip covers approximately 5 miles, with the duration varying from 2-3 hours in high water to up to 4 hours in lower conditions, offering a flexible and enjoyable experience tailored to the river’s flow.
Before embarking on your tubing adventure, it’s important to consider a few safety and preparation details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable outing. Each tube has a maximum weight limit of 250 pounds, and participants should be in reasonable physical condition, as some swimming may be required along the rocky river course. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and children under 12 years old are not permitted for safety reasons. The tubing season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, contingent on weather and water temperatures, and reservations are required, currently only available for groups of ten or more due to social distancing protocols. The last departure time is 12:00 PM, allowing ample opportunity to enjoy the river safely. By following these guidelines and preparing appropriately, you can fully immerse yourself in this relaxing yet invigorating experience, creating lasting memories on the Hocking River.
