Rented a mountain bike for 2 days. I used it on a lot of different local terrain, tested all the gears etc - no problems at all, could handle everything. Good price too. The service was also excellent, very kind bloke. Would recommend 👍☺️
We were able to call on Sunday to book a 4 hour canoe trip (in a 'Canadien') on Monday. The phone signal wasn't great so we had to try a few times. But on Monday everything went really smoothly! We were given verbal instructions and written information about navigating on the river, what to do to avoid barges and ferries, etc. The canoe, paddles and lifejackets were in good condition. FYI for English speakers: the staff seemed to be mainly German-speaking, it would have been tricky if we didn't speak some German ourselves. Beautiful day and a lovely bit of river! (Bad Schandau to Stadt Wehlen)
Bad experience all around. Long wait, very unclear instructions on dangerous sounding situations (please just print and laminate some maps if you want people to remember this much info on what ferry chain to cross where etc), no supervision on use of floaty vests, no help getting the kayak to or in the water, dry bag costs extra and they have too few and you will need one because there is no splash guard so everything gets soaked. They say dry shoes guaranteed in the flyer, must be a joke because there isnt a landing and you have to scramble across big slippery rocks while dragging your kayak. Then when you are at the destination you can figure out your own way back, the powerboat back shown in the flyer is a seperate activity you need to book, you are expected to take the train in your wet clothes which took us 45 minutes because we had to figure out where and how to buy tickets, then it was a 40 minute walk from the train back to the landing. There may be a shorter route but we couldnt find it. Walking that far in wet shoes causes bad blisters and an even worse mood. Forty euros to use one kayak a few hours and no service whatsoever is idiotic. Everywhere I have been kayakking at least there is someone where you end up and they take you back to the start. And it tends to cost way less.
