Located at 80 Thompson Drive, Eagle Rock VA 24085, it is approximately 30 minutes or 21 river miles upstream from Buchanan VA. The campground sits on an eight-acre parcel behind a working dairy farm and allows both drive-in and paddle-in access. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and level gravel area for tents. The site also provides a group river access area, port a potties, and a dumpster for trash. Guests must bring their own water as no utilities are available. Advanced reservations are required, and children under age five are not counted for billing purposes. The rate is fourteen dollars per person per night plus tax with a minimum thirty-six dollar camping fee.
Access by road requires passing under a railroad bridge that restricts vehicles longer than twenty-five feet, making the site unsuitable for large RVs. The campground is unmanned, offering a quiet and natural setting for those seeking a more secluded outdoor experience. Campers can enjoy the scenic riverfront, explore nearby trails, or relax by the fire at their own pace.
