Step aboard the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS or the iconic Steamboat NATCHEZ for a relaxing two-hour brunch cruise along the mighty Mississippi River. Depending on bookings and private events, either vessel may operate your departure, but both offer the same authentic riverboat experience—complete with live jazz, scenic river views, and a festive New Orleans atmosphere. Enjoy a live calliope concert before boarding, then settle into indoor or outdoor seating as talented local musicians set the mood. The cruise features a delicious Creole Brunch Buffet prepared fresh onboard, showcasing favorites like chicken & sausage gumbo, shrimp & grits, smoked salmon, cinnamon brioches, and more. A full cash bar offers craft cocktails, beer, and wine, while the captain shares fascinating stories about the city’s riverfront history.
Morning and afternoon cruises follow set schedules, with boarding beginning 30 minutes prior to departure. Guests can upgrade their outing with the optional Party Package, which includes a plated Creole lunch sampler, reserved decorated seating, three specialty drinks, and additional treats. The vessel sails rain or shine, and while accessible, the top deck is reachable only by stairs. Children under six cruise free with a paying adult, and group rates are available. Brilliant trip. Food was amazing. Commentary was so interesting. Cocktails and entertainment first class.

My wife and I had our dinner date on La Peniche, and it was absolutely amazing. It's one thing to eat by the canal, but to actually cruise down it, passing through the old locks, is something else entirely. The food was delicious- I highly recommend the duck confit! The atmosphere was perfect, with great jazzy remakes of pop and rock songs playing. The fun little moment of having to crouch under a low stone bridge just added to the charm. A truly special night out.

We really enjoyed this dinner experience. The atmosphere was really cozy. Food was very good. We loved travelling on the canals while eating and even more the canal lock experience!

La Peniche is so close to being 5 star and certainly could be with some improvements! Firstly, on arrival, you are seated on the deck and your drink orders are taken. After about 20 minutes your food orders are taken. Once starters are served, everyone moves down to inside the barge to have their meal. The deck itself could do with an upgrade. Really there is only so much you can do with weatherproof furniture BUT the table I was sat at had a huge very noticeable crack in it. The food itself was nice but the dessert portion was a bit lacking. There are only two options and the cake I got was very small compared to the creme brulee my boyfriend got. Still nice though. Now the service from staff and crew was outstanding. They were very efficient at their job and also very kind. Overall I'd recommend La Peniche for a novel experience and not for a fantastic dining experience. Also, this is a very minor gripe but when booking you are asked if there is a special occasion. On my cruise there were 2 birthdays. I had put down it was our anniversary but there was no mention of this during our dining experience.

The overall experience was great. Since I found out about this place I’ve wanted to go. Have dinner and cruise in the canal sounds awesome, and it is! The interior of the boat is quite cozy. You are allowed to explore the outside while cruising and wait for the food. Service was great and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Just for the price I was expecting food to be excellent but it was just good. Nothing to impress. But anyways I had a great time with my family. On a Sunday dinner it wasn’t busy, which I think made the experience nicer.

The boat was lovely. The food was delicious Really enjoyed it. The Jazz was really enjoyable. The only improvement I could suggest, is change the piped music getting on & off the boat, it was AWFUL!! Really loud & grated on me.

I really fancied the idea of this mini canal cruise over dinner and it started really nice. You can have your drinks on board before you head down for food. Really enjoyed this part. I would really like to see this place more taken care of, they can absolutely upgrade it and make it more stylish. In my opinion food was not good, only the starters not something wow though. We spent nearly 150e without dessert, and I felt it was not worth it. I really recommend that this place should be like starters, cheese boards and wine only, not 3 course meals. Food was microwaved and nothing special, on the contrary. Also the level of noise from big parties ruined the whole atmosphere. It’s so beautiful down there but big parties kept yelling and laughing hysterically. When we booked this place we really had in mind that it will be the perfect date but we were somehow disappointed. Staff is really helpful and kind, they try their best. I really recommend that this place will change things because it’s a really good idea from the business point of view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Steamboat Brunch Cruise on the Natchez. The staff in the restaurant were impeccable, they were on it. our waitress was MARY, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable and anticipated our every need. The music was excellent, and the boarding music on top of the boat was amazing. The brunch was the best we have ever had, excellent and such a great variety and plenty of it, the Cinnamon Rolls definitely made my day. So glad we finally got to go on this adventure. You will definitely have to try the brunch for yourself.

Lazy Relaxing, a trip back in time. Gumbo was fantastic. Narration of sights along the river was interesting. Engine room was massive, a real gem to watch it in action. Totally enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
