Great hike today!! Took a bus from Oaxaca toward Tlacolula (15 peso) and got off at the intersection toward Teotitlan del Valle at the mezcal el ray de matatlan. Took a tuktuk from there (10 peso per passenger) one way to town, and a taxi (40 peso total) the other. You are supposed to go to the museum in town (opens at 10) and buy a ticket for the hike (25 pesos). The actual hike begins just west of the dam north of town (piedra azul). It's super beautiful, full of cacti and agave and incredible views. 1.5 hours up, 45 minutes down. Also the town is charming, especially on Sunday when there is a market.
