Not what I expected from the "famous" copacabana. Rude hostess, poor quality drinks at Hugh quality drink prices. Dark and dirty looking. I've seen better Latin clubs in rural north Florida than this.
Had a wonderful time here. Wendell was the perfect host! We came from a fashion show in Uptown Harlem and decided to lounge at the Copa! Glad we did b/c upon entry Wendell took my hand and showed me and my party of 8 a great time!!!
Horrible dark and dirty! There was a $20 per person door fee and after climbing up two flights of stairs you are greeted by a jeans hats and T-shirt crowd... The bartender was on his phone and couldn't care less about his job, he made us two drinks in tiny plastic clear cups for $20 each... After we finished we ordered another round with no ice and it was half the size of the dixie cup...when I complained to the bartender he asked me if I wanted a double, I said other bars didn't do this and he got an attitude and told me this isn't the other bar, VERY RUDE!! This is a cheap trick from the owners & bartender... The music was dated and choppy like a kid was playing or a mix tape... Then we got ready for "the show" which consisted of 6 teenagers... They looked like a HS production it was embarrassing to even watch... Don't go to the "outside" lounge because it smelled like urine! Avoid at all cost and this establishment is a bootleg version of the Copa of the past!! You can do better! Shame on you!! We stayed for an hour and left with the bartender back on his phone!
I attended a private party for the 40th anniversary of the 116 Festival. It was a great turnout, with various artists performing, awards given out and our MC was Carlito from LaMega.
