The Shuttle Run is an 8.5-mile, self-guided paddle that begins at King’s Landing and flows downstream to our dock at Wekiva Island. This adventure typically takes 4–5 hours to complete and is recommended for paddlers with prior experience. The journey begins in clear, spring-fed water and gradually transitions into darker, tannic water as you move farther downstream, creating the ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife. Along the way, it’s common to encounter larger turtles, fish, birds, and even alligators, offering an authentic glimpse into the untouched beauty of Wild Florida. Guests may bring their own vessel or rent a kayak to explore this scenic and diverse stretch of the river.
Return transportation back to King’s Landing is included, providing convenience after completing your trip. If you plan to head upstream before beginning the Shuttle Run to see the famous Emerald Cut, you must arrive no later than 9 a.m., as this will add extra time to your journey. Inflatable vessels are no longer permitted on the Shuttle for safety reasons; if you prefer to paddle in an inflatable, please book the Day Paddle option, which requires you to arrange your own transportation. Guests who begin the trip unprepared and request assistance will incur a $100 per-person rescue fee, so proper planning is essential for a safe and enjoyable experience.
