Primitive campsites at Lake Leatherwood offer a simple and authentic outdoor experience for those who want to connect with nature while camping. Each site features a raised tent platform, a picnic table, and a fire ring with a grill for outdoor cooking. Visitors have access to nearby accessible restroom facilities and a bathhouse, making it convenient for basic needs. These sites do not include electrical, water, or waste hookups, allowing campers to enjoy a more traditional camping experience. Pets are welcome as long as they are domestic and kept on a leash, so you can bring along your furry friends for the adventure.

Guests planning to stay longer than seven nights are encouraged to call in advance for arrangements. Check-in time is at 3:00 pm, and check-out is at 2:00 pm. While there is no water directly at the sites, water spigots are conveniently available near the bathhouse and parking area. Military members are eligible for a discount by entering the code 002 when booking, with proof of service required at check-in. Visitors should be prepared for a self-sufficient camping experience and bring all necessary supplies to fully enjoy the peaceful, natural surroundings of Lake Leatherwood.

Amazing campsite quite and great place to relax. Campfire by the riverside, we got free fire logs 🪵. Only downside is running water is not reliable. But hey it’s a new campsite they are working on it. Been there twice this summer

We were really happy with the location. Far enough that you cannot hear any traffic humming. The pitches were large and against trees on one side which provided just enough shade. The owner was very pleasant and gave us good instructions when we arrived. Wood readily available for perfect evenings.

Great open space could do with washing up facilities and the toilet could do with smarting up

Had an excellent time at the meadow campsite, on our second night we struggled to light the campfire and the owner Martin came out at 9:30pm and helped us light it, amazing site and incredible host, will definitely be visiting again 😊
