⚠️ ESTAFA ALERT – Information post in Pompeya We came to this place to ask for a visit to Pompeya and Vesubius. We pay €25 per person for a tour in Pompeya (without paying for part of the guide). Then we asked the Vesubio and the lady to tell us that the only way to go was by contracting with him for an excursion of €35 per person. He even tried to inform us by saying that the last ride was at 3pm and that we would decide quickly. Unfortunately we don't worry. Just on the side they sell the bus ticket for €1.8 and the official entrance to Vesubio is only €9. As a matter of fact, we were priced at €42 more if we bought them in this case. One thing is wanting to sell a tour, another very different thing is lying and deciding that you don't have more options. I call him because he doesn't have another name. Advice: don't buy anything here, they are authentic estafadores, at least the lady we were waiting for. SCAM ALERT – “Information” booth in Pompeii (photo attached) We stopped at this booth to ask about visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius. To apply pressure, she even said, "Decide now; the last departure is at 3:00 PM." Luckily, we didn't fall for it. Right next door, they sell bus tickets for €1.80, and the official entrance to Vesuvius costs €9. If we'd listened to her, we'd have wasted an extra €42. It definitely feels like a scam between tour guides and the agency. What's really needed here is the intervention of competent people to protect tourists and promote the first Sunday of the month event. We were lined up that morning to take advantage of the free admission offered for this very occasion. After about 200-300 people, they made up the excuse that 3,000 people had already entered in just 45 minutes and that they wouldn't let anyone else in. How is this possible? I've seen tour guides at the entrance to the Villa of the Mysteries bribe foreign tourists, paying for it of course, who would enter with them without any waiting, while the people who had woken up early and had been waiting in line for over two hours remained outside, hoping to get in! How is it possible that, despite everything, you could still get in by paying €25 per person, but only through the agency and then also in groups? A real joke! Do you really think people are stupid, that they don't notice and understand what's going on? There seems to be a well-structured criminal organization at work here. You've invented the perfect business... despite the first Sunday of the month! Congratulations... and shame on you!
Luisa was a great tour guide!!! She was easy to book & advised us on navigating public transport to Pompeii & met us off the train. We were then fast tracked into Pompeii. The tour was very informative & interesting. We did not feel rushed & Luisa answered all of the questions we had. Can highly recommend Luisa
Luisa helped us arrange a private transfer from Naples to Sorrento including a stop at Pompeii for a private tour with her. I communicated with her via emails months prior to the tour. She is reliable and super easy to work with, and her tour is fantastic – fun and informative. Our driver, Giuseppe, even came back to our hotel the next day to return our wallet, which fell out of the pocket the night before while in the car. We had amazing experience, highly recommend!
Beware, this place will sell you 15 euro "Skip-the-line" tickets for 17 euros and no bill. The same ticket is available at the entrance of the excavations for 15 euros. And usually there is not too much of a line at the entrance.
