I'd like to help you find the slot canyon. It was a nice walk in about 4 inches of somewhat packed sand (dry season). Watch for horseshoe prints and poop to find your way. Stay in the main creek bed. It took us about 30 minutes to walk there (we started from the parking lot). About 25 minutes into the hike there is a fork. STAY TO THE LEFT. Once inside the slot canyon, the first 50 feet were easy, then had to climb (difficult) over a large bolder (using a log someone had kindly placed there), walked another 50 feet. a large step up that was difficult, then another large bolder that was in the way. We stopped here. Great little hike at 930am on February 2, 2025. 45 degrees. I hope this map helps you find it. DON'T CLIMB THE STAIRS BY THE PARKING LOT.
First slot canyon I did and very cool experience, big plus that it’s so accessible and not on miles of dirt road like many of the others. Overall most flat and easy/moderate trail, some tighter squeezes but not too bad. Great stop on the way to Bryce or Zion!
I did this 2 and 1/2 years ago but all the pictures got lost when my phone went into a ice cold 10 ft pool of water on another hike. I'm so glad since the last time I've been there. It's so much easier to find now. The last time I went to and a half years ago we went three times trying to find it. It doesn't disappoint it's absolutely spectacular. If you bring a dog please note that you have to put your dog on leash when the horses are around and there's a lot of them now. I think someone has started a business that's doing tours there now. It's not super deep dirt to get to it it's more like gravel dirt. Before you enter the slot though you should absolutely check out the cool kind of cave on the left. What you should note is that you do need to do some scrambling and at the end you would have to do some chimneys up 15 ft. I took my cattle dog and he managed just fine.
