The “no pictures allowed” policy is quite irrational to me, but alright. Aside from that, it was an extremely pleasant experience—nothing quite as beautiful as pacing three hours around seemingly unending halls covered by breathtaking works of art. Definitely worth the trip.

A transformational experience. To see Such greatness - the best humanity has to offer. Velásquez obviously a highlight. Caravaggio took my breath away. Audio guides very helpful. Staff good. Crowded yes, but still space to see the art. Pre buying tickets definitely a pro move but won’t help avoid a bit of a line.

Beautiful museum. We skipped the audio tour, but I’d highly recommend it—there’s so much to take in that it can feel overwhelming without guidance. I also learned that two versions of the Mona Lisa were created at the same time, and the earlier version is housed here (something I had no idea about!). It’s fascinating to see how it differs subtly from the version at the Louvre. No photos are allowed so I will leave you with a picture of the outside of the museum 🙂

A magnificent museum, house to famous paintings especially Goya. Absolutely worth the visit, the paintings are beautiful and about three levels of the museum to explore. There's free entry to the museum two hours before closing everyday. Best to be there earlier as the queue gets very long.

The most famous, the most visited (more than a million people a year) and the largest museum in Madrid. I recommend buying tickets in advance so you don't spend too much on the entrance to the museum. The museum primarily contains paintings by famous Spanish painters (Velázquez, El Greco, Mannings, Goya, etc.) and international painters (such as Rubens). You need 2-3 hours for the tour. What irritates me the most is the forbidden photography (which is not even the case in the Vatican museums) and I will never be able to understand what is achieved by this.
