This four hour self guided kayak tour offers one of the most scenic and peaceful experiences on Oahu, taking you from the meeting point in Kailua to the calm waters of Kahana River and the lush Kahana Valley. As you paddle through a landscape surrounded by mountains, rainforest, and turquoise ocean views, you will enjoy an Amazonian like atmosphere without any of the dangers found in true jungles. The sheltered bay and gentle river make this experience ideal for beginners, families, and anyone seeking a relaxing adventure in nature. Along the route, you may spot wetland birds, fish, and even rope swings for those feeling more adventurous. The valley is culturally important, so respectful behavior is encouraged throughout your journey.
The tour includes kayaks, paddles, life vests, dry bags, a route map, and optional snorkeling gear. Guests will pick up equipment at the Kailua storefront, where staff assist with safely securing the kayak to your vehicle for the forty minute drive to Kahana. Visitors should bring essentials such as reef safe sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, towels, and shoes suitable for walking and water activities. All paddlers must be able to swim, and children under thirteen require a private trip with a parent or guardian.
