Romina from Revigorate organized our 13-day trip in Spain and Portugal for a group of 6 people. The itinerary was well-paced and organized. During our stays, we visited many historical sites in both countries. The sightseeing tours were fantastic. We also experienced two local cultural cuisines in both Spain and Portugal. We enjoyed the Flamenco dinner show in Spain and the Fado dinner show in Portugal. Both countries are beautiful. Regarding lodging, we stayed at four different hotels in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Lisbon. They are all listed as 4-star hotels. The only hotel that truly deserves a 4-star rating is the Giralda Center hotel in Seville. It's well-kept and well-maintained. The front desk staff are professional and friendly. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety and is of good quality. Unfortunately, both the Barcelona Center Hotel in Barcelona and the Hotel Mundial in Lisbon are dated, and the service is below par. In the bathroom, you can see that the seal between the shower wall and the shower door has black spot and moldy in both hotels. We can hear a motor-like running sound in our room, day and night, at the Barcelona Center Hotel. Demolition and renovation are underway at Hotel Mundial in Lisbon. The drilling was deafening and very annoying, disrupting our nap time in the hotel. After complaining to the hotel and Romina, Hotel Mundial switched our room to a higher floor the next day after our arrival. I'll stay away from Hotel Mundial not only because of its condition, but also because of its location. The hand towels in Hotel Emperador in Madrid have stains. These hotels deserve no more than a 3-star rating. Regarding transportation, the drivers scheduled to take us from the hotel to the train station in Madrid and to the airport in Lisbon did not show up. After waiting for about 35-40 minutes at the hotel in Madrid, we hailed a taxi to the train station. Needless to say, it was close to our scheduled departure time at the train station. We are still not sure what happened to those drivers. There was no follow-up on it. Despite these mishaps, we still had a great time on our Spain and Portugal trip organized by Revigorate. Thank you!
I don't think there are enough stars to give for the wonderfully perfect trip planned by Miriam Martinez with Revigorate Travel. Each day was executed precisely with the transport, quality tour guides, and well paced itinerary. To have seen Portugal from north to south including Porto, Lisbon, Algarve, and the Douro Valley gave us a big picture of the country and it's charming and friendly people. By adding Morocco, Miriam added spice to the trip with excellent guides and a well placed itinerary to see Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat. Her choice of lodging in Portugal and Morocco were outstanding in their quality, service and locations. The restaurant recommendations for a lunch or dinner were spot on. Food was fresh and delicious in both countries. Miriam's consistent and responsive communications were so helpful from the planning stages of the trip through the trip experience. Maybe 10 stars for her and Revigorate?
We really enjoyed our trip to Portugal. We spent time in two cities (Porto and Lisbon). The hotels in both cities were excellent. We enjoyed both very much. We also traveled to Sintra to see the Sena castle. The cooking class with a professional chef in Porto was excellent. The guided tour of Sintra was also memorable. Transportation services were prompt and courteous when we met at the hotel. We enjoyed the boat trip and wine tasting in the Douro valley. We did have some problems locating our chef in Porto because the place where we were to meet was large (with two entrances and we were dropped off at the opposite entrance), we also were unsure of who we were looking for. We took the train to Lisbon which was rapid and smooth but the station in Lisbon occupied a full city block and we were unsure of where or whom we were meeting. However both of these issues were resolved without problem.There was an issue with a dinner reservation that was made for us but I believe this was the fault of the restaurant and we have been credited for the amount. Overall we were very happy with the trip.
