A nice little but quite complete museum of a great painter. If you like the simple but imaginative art of Theofilos then this museum will provide the overview of his steps in art. The personnel is very helpful and friendly and they will help with most questions you may have
Even if the museum is quite small, its beauty is really big. The paintings take you back to the years when the artist was growing up, getting a glimpse of the every day life of that time. The biography of Theophilos convey a nice message … your uniqueness may be misunderstood and yet recognized as a wonderful gift by the right person. The colors of the paintings were beautiful and nicely portrayed.
A true gem for anyone fascinated by folk art or Greek heritage. Theophilos Museum offers a heartfelt, colorful glimpse into the soul of Lesbos, and it’s absolutely worth a visit.
