A highlight of our visit to Rome for my Teen, and a wonderfully fresh way to experience Roman history away from the traffic. The electric bikes made the ride easy, while the stoney road of the Regional Park of the Appian Way were somewhat of a challenge to navigate. Our guide, Patricio/Patrick was wonderful, engaging and knowledgeable. The historic/natural route option was full of amazing sights and side tours, including catacombs. We arrived by taxi for a 2pm-5pm tour, and it was simple to catch the bus from the stop across the street back into the historic city center.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beat the crowds and see amazing parts of the city. Highly recommended!
E bikes for the appian way. About 16 km one way. And you can also go to the aqueduct park for some additional distance with plenty of battery to spare.
Sylvia, our tour guide, offered us fascinating knowledgable perspectives on ancient Rome. The electric pedal bike tour was very accessible, employing secure routes that included bike paths, dedicated lanes, and carefully managed traffic light crossings. We had the opportunity to visit the catacombs and the Church of Saint Sebastian. We then proceeded to the countryside, where we admired the aqua ducts, then experienced a visit to a country club restaurant, savoring freshly made, homemade appetizers. The tour then returned us to the bike shop. 10 ⭐️
We had an amazing time on this tour with Laura and Glen. Laura expertly led us through town and out into the countryside and parks. It was BEAUTIFUL! We loved seeing a more relaxed side of Rome, the ancient aqueduct ruins, visiting the catacombs (we didn't even know what these were, but the guide was wonderful and we learned a lot!), and trying the Roman spring mineral water... so cool! The E-bikes were so nice. The picnic was AMAZING! Glen met us with a fresh, organic, local lunch... fruits, bread, olives, and cheese and porcetta... it was SO good. Highly recommend this tour for the wonderful people, food, sights, exercise and getting out of the hustle and bustle of the city! It was refreshing and delightful. So fun!
