Useful for transport to Larano hike; however a strange tour/guide experience. At the beginning the guide did make an effort and spoke English and introduced plants and history of Madeira. However after about 45mins that burned out he spoke Portuguese to fellow speakers and ignored the tour. A strange experience and the quietest "tour" I've ever been on. I understand enough Portuguese to hear him comment "no tips" as they dropped off other passengers at the hotel stops home. The driver had friendly expressions and smiles at least. Also most expensive of any tour I did

Excellent tour operator on Madeira where you can make several different tours on Madeira with local guides who can tell you a lot of interesting things about sights to see and local attractions. Local guides are very friiendly and tell the customers a lot interesting things about their fabulous island. Tours are not expensive. Very recommended

Yesterday we did the Fanal Forest walk. What an excellent day. Sergio, our guide was entertaining and informative (in German and English to cater for the group of 11). He introduced us to the beautiful mature Fanal forest trees - when looking at these trees, some well over 1000 years old, remember that thry were here before humans! An opportunity to see some of what are the best examples on the island of a vegetation type which makes Madeira unique. We highly recommend this tour.
I booked a hike (pico do arieiro to pico ruivo) and a bus tour to the east. Both times everything went perfect and I was extremely happy with the guides. We made plenty of stops to take pictures, and they explained a lot about the flora, fauna and geology of the island. Just be sure to use your brain when going to the mountains: The paths are good, but you still need warm clothes, good solid shoes and a rain jacket. It's not a walk in the park!
Great day out! The tour guide was kind, knowledgeable and even sometimes funny. On each of these beautiful stops, we learned a lot about Madeira's history and its flora and fauna along the way. The views are not forgettable. Really recommend the trip.
