Caminhada Serra Devassa & Grota do Inferno - Dia Inteiro

This full-day hike offers a unique way to explore the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades, showcasing its most iconic landmarks and natural wonders. The trail, which presents a moderate challenge, winds through breathtaking landscapes of lakes, aqueducts, and natural springs, all surrounded by endemic vegetation, and leads up to the highest point of Sete Cidades, Pico das Éguas. The circular route begins at Muro do Carvão with an introductory briefing about the trail and the areas you will visit. Along the Serra Devassa trail, hikers will discover Lagoa do Caldeirão, Pico das Éguas, Lagoa das Éguas, and Lagoa do Canário, providing spectacular views and ample opportunities to connect with nature.

After a refreshing picnic break, the trail continues past the famous Miradouro Grota do Inferno and the springs of Canário before returning along Serra Devassa. On the way, hikers will enjoy views of Lagoa Rasa and explore the Lagoa das Empadadas park before reaching the starting point.
