Our guide was Gonçalo and he was amazing! He was so passionate and knowledgeable about the island, it made such a difference to the trip. We were collected by 4x4 at 9am and circumnavigated the major caldera, seeing the green and blue lakes and crossing the bridge that connects them. We saw areas that some miss as the roads are only suitable for off road vehicles. We stopped in some great spots for photos and did a few walks to different locations inaccessible by car. There were only 3 of us on the trip, it felt very special and I would recommend.

We had a great day with José, who made the most of the bad weather. He is a wealth of information on the flora and fauna of the islands and was a consummate host, even going out of his way to add a stop at am amazing chocolate shop since the views on other parts of the island were obstructed by fog. We learned a ton and had a wonderful time getting to know San Miguel.
