I've booked three tours as a solo traveller via Sao Miguel-tours: the Nordeste, Furnas and Cete Cidades tour. For all three of them I had the pleasure of having Jake as my guide. They try to give you the same guide during the trips you've booked and pick you up right at your hotel. Lunch (+ wine & water ) was included on all the day trips I've done. Big shout out to Jake though, he brings you to the best spots and is for sure a perfect representative for the Azores and Sao Miguel-island. Would recommend 100%!
Roberto was a fabulous tour guide. For eight hours he took us on a magnificent tour of this beautiful island. He made the itinerary for us and it truly exceeded our expectations. We were able to see a great many of the island highlights and a couple of hidden gems. There were six in our party and the van was clean, roomy and comfortable. Roberto is also an amazing driver and made us feel safe on these hairpin roads! Thank you, Roberto. Hope to see you again !
Philip was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable and really made the experience unforgettable. He took us to see the hot springs, guided us through the cozido dish process (we even got to watch it being taken out of the ground!), and shared so much insight along the way. It was such a unique and memorable day thanks to him. Highly recommend!
Honestly, it was a really complete activity
We had an incredible day with Robert from San Miguel Tours! He took us all over the island, customizing the experience to suit our interests and pace. Robert knows all the hidden gems and scenic viewpoints, and somehow managed to park right up close at every stop so we didn’t have to walk much — which was especially thoughtful since our mom has limited mobility. One spot was so remote and beautiful, we couldn’t believe the van made it up there! His knowledge, flexibility, and genuine care made this one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Highly recommend booking with him if you're visiting São Miguel!
Roberto is a fantastic tour guide. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about the island and knows every corner and gems of the island. He goes extra mile to show you the stunning view points that are not even included in the itinerary of the tours. We did three great tours with him and highly recommend Nordeste, Sete Cidades and Furnas. His Van is super comfortable and he is a great driver with a sense of humour. This tour was absolutely fabulous! We had Roberto as our tour guide, and he was great! Very knowledgeable and patient when we wanted to look at views for longer. Totally recommend! 10/10 for a day trip in the Azores
