This was such a fun activity creating our very own Bourbon bottle. We mixed some 200 year old Oak, some European Oak and some Cherry Wood to create our very own “Kentucky Cactus Juice” for us to enjoy at home. Sydney was our guide and made it super fun while she shared the history and instructions on how we can mix and create our very own Bourbon. Would totally recommend this super fun 1-hour activity.
I don’t care for bourbon, but this was an interesting stop. I purchased the ticket joint with the Louisville Slugger museum and found the cost for both attractions combined to be well worth it. The ticket came with a Bourbon tasting experience. You receive a fun history of bourbon and the company and are given six different drinks to try. You then are afforded the opportunity to combine flavors and receive your own custom bourbon bottle with your custom creation. This experience is recommended for anyone from first time bourbon drinkers to experienced lovers of the drink. They also have a gift shop and a bar for those who don’t want to do the full experience.
This experience was SO COOL!! John, our teacher was very friendly and personable. He answered any questions we had. I recently just started drinking bourbon and this experience really laid it out for me on how different woods and finishes will have different tastes and finishes. And the best part of it all? You get to actually craft your own blend right there!! AND you get to watch it be bottled right in front of your eyes!! I highly recommend this place to anyone!!
John did an amazing job explaining how the different flavors are brought out in the bourbon and how the Wood barrels plays a role in that. This tour is a must. Do it after you tour the Louisville slugger museum which is right next door. We had a great time and had our own bottles made.
This was a pretty neat experience, especially if you are a baseball fan. With your tickets, you are purchasing a tour of the Louisville Slugger facility to see how the many different bats are made from little league to the major league. You also have access to see a museum of the rich history of baseball and even have the opportunity to hold some of the bats used by many famous players. Even the great Babe Ruth. After the tour, we went next door for a bourbon tasting. The pours were nice sized pours, allowing you to try each one and even had the opportunity to use the bourbons in front of you to mix your own flavors. It was a unique, enjoyable experience.
