Your day begins with a hotel pick-up and a scenic drive through Bali’s lush tropical landscape. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at a colorful flower market before continuing to a peaceful mountain village near Mt. Batukaru. From here, take a guided 20-minute walk through stunning rice terraces as your guide explains the exotic plants and fruits you encounter. Stop at a local farmer’s place, where, if you're lucky, you may witness traditional rice field work with a water buffalo—an authentic glimpse into Balinese agricultural life. You might even spot the buffalo resting near a lotus pond or wandering nearby.
Upon arrival at Balikaru, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the family and an introduction to traditional Balinese music by playing the Rindik instrument yourself. Continue with a guided tour through the herb and spice garden, learning about the important plants used in both Balinese cuisine and traditional medicine. Then, step into the Jamu Pavilion to create your own Jamu—an ancient Indonesian herbal drink known for its health benefits. Using traditional tools and fresh garden ingredients, you’ll make and sample two unique Jamu recipes, discovering the delicious and healing qualities these drinks are cherished for in Balinese culture.

This cooking class was amazing! Nanda was warm and open, she answered all of our questions. She gave us not only a cooking lesson but also a dive into the culture. We started off by making the offering then we went into cooking - honestly amazing experience!

Me and my boyfriend found this through air bnb and it was phenomenal! You will not leave hungry. You learn so much about the culture and the religion by making the offerings you see all around Bali! Truly an amazing experience and recommend to everyone to indulge in the culture and food!

Highlight of my Bali trip! Place was a bit far from seminyak but very accessible via grab motorcycle. I chose the vegetarian option and the food didn't disappoint. The teacher was very hands on, she taught us how to make Canang sari prior the cooking lesson. Ambiance was immaculate, an authentic balinese experience.

One of the best cooking experiences! Ibu Sri and team were very helpful and kind in explaining Indonesian spices. The meal at the end was very fulfilling (and filling! We had to take some of our food home!). We get to make 4 different dishes. This 3.5 hours experience was worth every penny!

A lovely experience! We started the evening with a welcome tea and a nice chat with Sri. She told us a lot of interesting things about Balinese culture. We even made our own canang sari (offering to the gods), which we enjoyed very much as you see them everywhere you go in Bali. And then we started cooking 5 different dishes. We got great instructions and we talked about the ingredients and we could also try them before we used them. The cooking was great fun and the dishes tasted so good!! The price was fair for what we got (450k per person). There are two courses. One in the morning starting at 9 to prepare for lunch and one that starts at 5 for dinner. Can absolutely recommend this cooking class. Only thing to mention is that you can only pay with cash.
