Each weather-sealed container can accommodate food for one or multiple hikers, depending on individual requirements. Upon reaching a designated drop location, hikers can collect their supplies, restock their packs, and leave any rubbish inside the container. The service also includes collection of the containers and proper waste disposal after hikers have continued their journey.
Booking the service is straightforward, with hikers selecting the date they plan to visit the Hiker Hub and an approximate drop-off time within operating hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. One booking quantity is required for each 20-litre container, while additional containers can be added if extra storage space is needed. Food is not included, allowing hikers to pack meals that best suit their preferences and itinerary.
To ensure a smooth experience, containers are delivered approximately 24 to 36 hours before the expected arrival at each resupply point. After booking, hikers receive a confirmation email containing a detailed PDF with GPS coordinates and instructions for every food drop location.
