GPT - Food Drops

The GPT Food Drop service is designed to lighten your load, save time, and allow you to focus on your hike while we take care of your food logistics. Before starting your walk, you will pack your food into 20L, sealed, waterproof containers at our GPT Hiker Hub in Halls Gap. Once packed, we deliver the containers to your chosen locations along the trail before you arrive. At each drop point, you can access your food, resupply, and deposit any rubbish, and our team will return later to collect the containers and dispose of any waste. Each container is weather-sealed and can hold food for one or multiple hikers, depending on your needs. Food is not provided, so you will need to supply your own. The service includes both drop-off and pick-up, and while containers are securely stored at the Hiker Hub, we cannot guarantee their security once delivered, though we will do our best to assist in case of any issues.

Booking your food drops is simple. You select the date you plan to visit the GPT Hiker Hub to pack your containers, and the preferred time for drop-off, which can be approximate within our operating hours of 9 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. Each drop location requires a quantity of one per container, with additional containers added in the booking extras if needed. The number of people hiking is irrelevant since each container holds 20L of food. Pricing includes our service to deliver the containers 24 to 36 hours prior to your arrival, allowing you to access your food and deposit rubbish before we collect the containers later.
