The GPT Huts Walk offers a three-day, two-night guided adventure through the spectacular Northern Grampians, providing hikers with the opportunity to experience the Mount Difficult Range while enjoying the comfort of purpose-built signature hiker huts. Beginning at the Gar Trailhead in Roses Gap and finishing in Halls Gap, the journey combines scenic hiking with well-supported overnight accommodation.
Unlike traditional camping, participants spend each night in modern hiker huts equipped with comfortable mattresses, organized storage areas, and protection from changing weather conditions. Along the trail, hikers pass seasonal waterfalls, traverse rugged mountain landscapes, and reach spectacular viewpoints that showcase sweeping panoramas of the Grampians National Park.
The itinerary begins with a briefing at the Hiker HUB in Halls Gap before a transfer to the Gar Trailhead. The first overnight stay is at Gar Signature Hiker Camp, followed by a second night at Werdug Signature Hiker Camp. On the final day, hikers complete the journey back to Halls Gap, where the experience concludes with a celebratory drink at a local brewery.
Led by knowledgeable local guides, the program includes meals, transfers, group equipment, and comprehensive safety support throughout the trek. What a great way to kick start my love of overnight hiking! So many fantastic tips along the way from our guide, Flynn, to introduce hiking to beginners. The food was amazing and all of the staff were so friendly. Plus of course the views, the flowers and the animals made this a trip to remember. Can't wait to come back and do the next leg :)
Friendly and reliable service, I booked a shuttle from Halls Gap to Mt Zero, they were on time and drove me promptly there to arrive earlier than expected. Had a lovely friendly chat on the way, and was glad to hear that the company was able to provide a small number of stable jobs for outdoors-experienced locals. I would love to support their company further and would use their services again. I had some knee trouble on my hike and finished early, leaving me some distance from Halls Gap. I phoned Adrian to see if he could help me out, and he arranged someone to pick me up, and refused my offers of payment despite them helping me out and at short notice. I really appreciate their services. They also run adventures such as rock climbing and canoeing including for families, so I'll be considering these for the future.
The crew at Grampians Peaks Walking Company were so easy to deal with. Wanted to walk a section of The Grampians Peaks Trail and needed transport back to car. Mitch was able to suggest pick up points and arranged everything for me. Imogen was on time on pick up and a wealth of knowledge in regards to the trail and possible ideas for next time, and everything went to plan. Would highly recommend these guys for all your transport needs whilst on the trail. They were very reasonably priced for a solo traveller.
