The Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre is the perfect starting point for anyone spending time in the Grampians. Conveniently located right on the main street in Halls Gap, the centre provides a wealth of resources that make planning your trip easy. Inside you’ll find shelves full of brochures, maps, and guides covering everything from walking trails and waterfalls to local restaurants, cafés, wineries, and accommodation. There are also displays highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of the region, which add some great context before heading out to explore. What stood out most for us was the staff, knowledgeable, approachable, and always happy to share tips on the best lookouts, family-friendly activities, or hidden gems you might otherwise miss. They answered our questions thoroughly and even suggested a few lesser-known hikes that turned out to be highlights of our trip. The visitor centre itself is modern, clean, and well laid out, with clear maps of the surrounding area and up-to-date event listings. If you’re planning to spend a few days (or longer) in the Grampians, I’d highly recommend stopping in here first.
