The GPT Express, a scheduled hiking shuttle service along the full length of the Grampians Peaks Trail, is helping hikers explore one of Australia’s premier long-distance walking routes with greater convenience. Operating between Dunkeld and Mount Zero, the service is designed to move hikers from south to north, allowing them to complete the trail in the preferred north-to-south direction.

The shuttle service offers a practical solution for hikers who want to avoid strict return schedules. By leaving their vehicle at the end point of their journey and travelling to the starting location on the first day, walkers can focus on completing the trail at their own pace while ensuring their car and supplies are waiting when they finish.

For those tackling the Southern Stage, the GPT Express provides flexible travel options, including transfers to Jimmy Creek for the start of the hike and pickups from Dunkeld at the conclusion. Hikers can also leave their vehicle at the finish point and use the shuttle to reach their chosen starting location, creating a smoother and more organised walking experience.

Full-trail hikers also have multiple transport choices based on where they leave their vehicles. Those parking in Halls Gap can use the Northern Zone shuttle to reach the trailhead and return through the Southern Zone service after completing the walk. Alternatively, hikers leaving their car in Dunkeld can use the GPT Express End-to-End ticket for a direct transfer to Halls Gap, providing a simple way to begin the adventure and complete the entire Grampians Peaks Trail.
