6 STARS!! This was the best thing we did in Istanbul. I was a little skeptical at first because we were traveling cheap and the experience was $150 for two of us, but honestly I think it was worth every penny. I realized that the price of a super delicious, filling meal is factored into that cost, not to mention the recipes I’m definitely going to make at home. Nuran is THE Turkish mom. She made us feel right at home, walked a good line between teaching us to cook and just enjoying the process. She did wonders for my Turkish which is still improving. Her home is clean, her family is so friendly, and she wouldn’t let us tip her. 6. Stars. P.S. We also broke one of her peelers and she was so sweet about it and didn’t even care. She’s the best.

I love that they have classes with the locals at their house. The cooking was a great experience seeing how they live but the food wasn’t my speed of food but still a great experience over all.
