The GPT Express is a scheduled hiking shuttle service that runs the full length of the trail from Dunkeld to Mount Zero, designed to transport hikers from south to north so they can walk north to south at their own pace. For most hikers, it’s recommended to leave your car at the end point of your walk and use the GPT Express to reach the trailhead on the first day. This approach eliminates the pressure of finishing your hike on the last day and ensures that your vehicle and belongings are ready and waiting at the endpoint, providing convenience and peace of mind throughout your hike.

For those tackling the Southern Stage, you can book a ticket to start your walk at Jimmy Creek and be picked up at Dunkeld, or leave your car at the endpoint and use the shuttle to return to your starting point. Hikers completing the entire GPT trail have flexible options: leave your car in Halls Gap and use the Northern Zone shuttle to reach the start, then the Southern Zone shuttle to return to Halls Gap, or leave your car in Dunkeld and book the GPT Express End-2-End ticket to travel directly from Dunkeld to Halls Gap. This shuttle service makes planning and completing your hike simple, efficient, and stress-free.
