Robert

We were a little late but they allowed us to catch up to our guide. Worked out great. Very interesting ruins! Our guide was very knowledgeable!

Pablo was great, the tour has some adult themes due to the nature of some of the locations and Graffiti, they were handled with sensitivity and my 10 year old was mostly oblivious to the context. It was easy to find and the two hours flew by. We did the tour at 2pm so finished at 4pm, the park shuts at 5 so we only had an hour left yo explore which would be fine but many of the areas had closed. So I would recommend doing the tour earlier if you wanted to see more of the park. Also you don’t appreciate the scale of the place, it’s huge you could never see all of it in a day, it takes around half an hour to walk from one side to the other.

Paolo was an outstanding guide for the limited time we had to spend in Pompeii and Herculaneum. These are huge archeological sites so it really helps to have a knowledgeable guide who can efficiently show you the highlights and then some. Paolo is an archaeologist by training so he was the perfect guide to take us around. He is also very knowledgeable about the history of the period. His English is excellent and he has so much enthusiasm for the sites that it is infectious. Hire Paolo. You won’t be sorry.

Our archaeologist guide, Teresa, was absolutely amazing. As she had personally worked on some of the excavations herself, she had a wealth of knowledge to share with us and also made it entertaining! Highly recommend her and this tour, it was one of the best I have been on.
April

Tour company was organized and gave great instructions for check in. Our guide was a wonderful local and gave great information. Kind of wish it was longer so we could see more with him. I chose this tour because it allowed for us to walk around afterwards and not on a strict time crunch. The area is huge and could've spent so much more time. Did really appreciate that the tour guide avoided over congested areas to avoid the crowds.
Anna

Absolutely amazing tour. The lady that took us around an, archaeologist called Anna and her last name was like a city lol, was so passionate it really helped you see and feel the whole experience. I would of loved to have spent the day with her just learning about what they do there. It was a dream trip for myself and my teen son and he loved every minute. I hope to make it back to see more.

We had a wonderful guided tour with Paolo at both Pompeii and Herculaneum. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and knew both archaeological sights well. His English was great and he made tour easily accessible for our children too. We had a wonderful time.
Olivia

We had plans to visit Herculaneum with a Viator tour, but they cancelled right before. Luckily Paolo was at the entrance and for hire as a private tour guide. This was one of the best tours we’ve ever had during our multiple visits to Italy. Paolo is incredibly knowledgeable on Herculaneum, Pompeii, Italian history, and the area. He was thorough in all explanations and made sure we saw all the highlights. It was a very engaging tour, as he could thoughtfully answer all of our questions in excellent English. You can customize your tour, short, medium, long length, making for a suitable visit no matter your time schedule. I highly recommend Paolo for any tour he could be offering, 10/10!!

We had an excellent tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum with Paolo! We had been to Pompeii once before with a cruise ship tour, but our tour with Paolo was much more in-depth and thorough. Both sites were SO IMPRESSIVE!! And we learned so much! Paolo arranged for us to have lunch between the two sites which was nice to cool off and get out of the sun for a while!! He was also able to arrange last minute transport for us due to a transit strike! Great time - highly recommended!!

Our family of five had an amazing day visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum with Paolo. It was so much more than a tour - as an archeologist, he was able to share his passion and deep historical knowledge for both sites, and his stories and descriptions kept our 12, 15 and 17 year-old engaged. If you have the time, a full day with Paolo gave an incredible overview of Roman life leading up to the eruption in 79AD. Should you only have a half day, we highly recommend touring Herculaneum, the lesser-known site but a true gem for how well so much was preserved. From our pick-up at the hotel in Naples to quick lunch between sites, to the drop-off back at the hotel, everything was great. Grazie mille Paolo!!
