Start your journey with an early morning meet-up at your hotel before transferring to the picturesque Hoa Binh Province. As you ascend slowly toward the mountain plateau, the drive becomes a cultural experience of its own, passing through ethnic minority villages and scenic rural landscapes. Once the bikes are unloaded, you’ll begin your ride toward Mai Chau, a peaceful valley known for its stilt houses, lush rice fields, and the rich traditions of the Thai ethnic community. This first stretch of the tour offers a gentle introduction to the region’s beauty while giving you time to connect with local life and the surrounding nature.
Over the course of this four-day adventure, you’ll explore the diverse terrains and cultural highlights of Hoa Binh, Mai Chau, and Pu Luong. Cycling deeper into Pu Luong Nature Reserve, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of vast valleys, cascading terraced fields, and dramatic limestone mountains. The quiet trails, fresh mountain air, and warm hospitality of local communities make this journey both invigorating and enriching. Whether riding through forested paths or admiring panoramic village vistas, each day provides a perfect balance of discovery and relaxation.

I recently joined the North East Vietnam Mountain Cycling Tour (13 days / 12 nights) with my 73-year-old grandfather — and it was truly an experience of a lifetime. We rode about 1,100 kilometers across breathtaking mountains and small, peaceful villages that most travelers never get to see. Neither of us are professional cyclists, but thanks to the e-bikes, every climb felt possible and every ride was pure joy. Our guide and support driver were incredible — always attentive, kind, and somehow always appearing with cold water, fruit, and a smile just when we needed it. Everything — the routes, hotels, meals, and logistics — was so well organized by Vietnam Cycling Tours that all we had to do was enjoy the ride. If you want to experience the real Vietnam, beyond the usual tourist spots, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Had a great experience of cycling from Siam Reap to Saigon (9D/8N) This was one of the best-managed cycling tours I have experienced, particularly the Vietnam segment. Ms. Linh and her team provided exceptional support throughout, guiding us seamlessly through the routes and offering insightful commentary on the cultural significance of various stops. Beyond her expertise as a guide, Ms. Linh is also an outstanding cyclist, whose enthusiasm and encouragement inspired us to push our limits. The Cambodia portion of the trip was well handled by Mr. Sum and his team, though there were some logistical challenges, including last-minute hotel changes and an issue with an incorrect bike. Additionally, scheduling rides in 36-degree heat after lunch was less than ideal; adjusting the itinerary to complete the majority of cycling before midday would enhance the overall experience. Despite these minor setbacks, the tour was an incredible experience, offering a unique and immersive way to explore Vietnam and Cambodia. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to discover these two countries from a different perspective.

Great trip with cycling led by Mr Bao through the Mekong Delta. This has to be the best way to truly experience Vietnam with excellent guidance and local knowledge. Excellent organisation and support, very good communication from start to finish , I would recommend Vietnam Cycling tours to anyone looking for a bike trip to discovery the Mekong.

We had a wonderful time. Weather did not co-operate. The people of Vietnam are lovely and kind, gentle and warm. The country side is beautiful. Our guide Mr. Vien was very attentive to our needs. We learned so much from him about Vietnam and its people. Such a great experience. Every hotel was very accommodating with amazingly attentive staffs. Other than the weather the trip was perfect. Thank you! -Mike & Gail. Utah-USA

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We did a bike trip with VietnamCyclingTours 10 years ago for my 50th bday and decided to do TWO trips for my 60th. (Mekong Delta+PhuQuoc 14 days and Sapa,Vietnam to Luang Prabang, Laos 11day/10nights) ABSOLUTELY best time ever. Mr. Van and his team of experienced and professional guides delivered two terrific, bespoke experiences, each one highlighting the food, culture, and sights of the regions we visited in a way we felt was only possible because we choose a local company. Because we had done a trip in the Mekong in 2013, we wanted a slightly different route this time around. With our AMAZINGLY knowledgeable and kind guide Mr. DAT, we absolutely saw new places, particularly enjoying the area near the Cambodian border towards the end of our biking and the first night outside of Saigon at the Coco Riverside Lodge. Mr. DAT made our trip extraordinary. We ended our first tour with 7 days on PhuQuoc Island at the La Veranda Resort, with our boat in, hotel, transfers and return flight all arranged by Vietnam Cycling Tours. I highly recommend that as an add on to your bike trip. We then visited HoiAn on our own before meeting up with Mr. Van and team again in Hanoi. Because this was not our first time, we switched our city tour to a food tour before hopping on the overnight train to Sapa. This flexibility is one of the ways that Mr. Van and his team offer superb customer service. We met our next guide Mr. Kien, who is local to the area and took us on several back roads as we road over 4 days to the LAOS border. Having Mr. Van on our trip as bike mechanic was a HUGE BONUS. His love of cycling and passion for sharing backroads is unmatched. The final 4 days of ride started at the LAOS border with a new quide, Mr. Somphai, who delighted us with stories, picked the perfect restaurants, and shared insights about his home and culture. We felt like every day was better than the next and then landed in Luang Prabang, another magical place. We loved our trips with Mr. Van and team at VietnamCyclingTours and can't wait to go back and do another one. We have done standard and customized tours with this company and found both to be high quality.
