Bega River Kayak Tour

This immersive kayak adventure takes you through a variety of ecosystems, from the forested reeds of the lagoon to the sand spits, bush, and farmland along the Bega River. Guests will paddle at a pace suited to the group’s experience level, allowing plenty of time to observe the natural habitat. Along the way, you may spot egrets fishing in the shallow waters, azure kingfishers perched on branches, and even white-bellied sea eagles soaring overhead. Partway through the journey, the group will land ashore to stretch, enjoy a morning tea, and perhaps take a refreshing swim. Morning tea includes plunger coffee, black leaf tea or peppermint leaf tea, seasonal fruit, sweet treats from Blend Cafe, and local full cream milk from Tilba Dairy. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated if requested at the time of booking.

This easy fitness level tour is conducted on sheltered flat water with minimal currents, featuring easy entry and exit points and no more than 500 meters from safe landing sites. Guests are required to bring hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, shoes that can get wet, comfortable clothing, any personal medication, a water bottle, camera or phone, and swimmers with a towel. Expert kayak guides assist all participants in entering and exiting the kayaks safely and with dignity. Kayaks have a maximum weight limit of 130 kilograms, and trained assistance animals are not permitted on board for safety reasons.
