Our first trip up the Hawkesbury River on the Riverboat Postman two years ago was a truly memorable experience - so much so, that we decided to relive the experience on Thursday 5 February this year. We were not disappointed in any way. From the Anzac biscuits served with coffee or tea as you board, to the generous Ploughman’s Lunch with fresh Turkish bread rolls, and the informative and amusing trip commentary, everything was really enjoyable. The staff are friendly and helpful, and all in all, this is an experience I have no hesitation in highly recommending.
On Sunday 28th December 2025 we along with 61 of our friends enjoyed the cruise. The lovely staff made it comfortable for us to enjoy the day. Weather was a little cloudy and the breeze was not very strong. We came early to make sure that we don't miss the cruise. With time on our hands my wife and I went for a walk through the car park to the walking track towards Flat Rock Point and continued to the Brooklyn Public Boat Ramp. Then we returned. We boarded the boat and it was underway just after 11AM. Coffee/Tea and Anzac biscuits were served. We enjoyed great company of our friends and also the view along both sides of the waterway. We had the announcements about our location and other information about the area. Due to the noise of the conversation and also the lack of clarity of the sound system we didn't enjoy that information. However, on the upper deck the announcement was much clearer. I have enjoyed a glass of red wine which we can purchase. After 12:30 lunch was served and we all enjoyed the lunch. The staff was keen to look after us. All our friends were full of praise of the experience. The area is magical and the cruise is the icing on the cake.
As the event coordinator for this country‑inspired cruise aboard the Riverboat Postman, I was thrilled to see how seamlessly the day came together. The crew were extremely helpful and welcoming, ensuring guests felt comfortable from the moment they stepped aboard. Guests commented that they loved the boat and many said they would happily return for cruises throughout the year. Even though the weather brought rain, it didn’t dampen our spirits, the atmosphere remained cheerful, with plenty of laughter, conversation, and country‑flavoured fun. The combination of a charming vessel, supportive crew, and a country‑themed program created a truly memorable experience. It was a celebration of music, community, and the unique beauty of the Hawkesbury River, one that guests will remember fondly and look forward to repeating.
