Three Day High Country Horse Adventure Brings Legendary Trails to Life

Riders can discover the breathtaking beauty of Victoria’s High Country on an unforgettable two-night, three-day horseback adventure through historic landscapes and iconic trails. The journey begins at a family-owned high country farming property with generations of history, where guests set out on horseback to experience the legendary scenery connected with the famous “Man from Snowy River” landscape.

The first day takes riders through open tracks, creek beds, and spectacular mountain terrain while offering opportunities to spot native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, and impressive birdlife. After a scenic lunch at a bush hut, the trail continues toward the Howqua River and The Hideout, where guests enjoy a hearty roast dinner and a relaxing campfire beneath the stars.

The second day features a scenic ride along the high track through Running Creek Reserve, with sweeping views across the surrounding valleys and peaceful High Country scenery. After a pack saddle lunch, riders return along river tracks featuring exciting crossings and opportunities for gentle cantering before unwinding with a barbecue dinner and evening campfire.

The final day of the adventure leads riders to Kate Camerons Peak, the famous location associated with the iconic jump scene from The Man from Snowy River. The journey concludes with a scenic descent into the valley and a return to the farmhouse for a satisfying lunch, leaving guests with lasting memories of the High Country’s beauty, history, and adventure.
